It shouldn’t come as a surprise that we are huge fans of DIY beauty and all natural products. We try out best to stay away from using harsh chemicals on our face and primarily use organic and natural alternatives, but let’s be honest, we are realistic and aren’t ditching some of our favorite beauty must-have’s. That being said, we did find a great natural makeup remover that we wanted to share with you. Last week rather than heading to Target, we took a leap of faith and went to Whole Foods and purchased a $4.99 bottle of Grapeseed Oil. We’d always heard that this oil was a great alternative to store bought makeup remover but we hadn’t given it a try. Well, best decision ever.
There are two ways that we use it:
1. With clean hands put the oil directly on ourface, let it sit for a moment, and lightly rub the oil off (repeat if necessary).
2. Put the oil on a cotton ball, gently wipe off the makeup (repeat if necessary).
Both work just fine, it just depends on which way you prefer! This simple makeup remover not only gets the job done but also moisturizes your eyelashes and skin. A few other benefits include: fighting wrinkles, sun spots, some cancers, diabetes, and acne. Another tip, only use this at night or when you are done taking your makeup off for the day. If you need to redo your makeup in the middle of the day, grab that Neutrogena makeup-removing wipe as we have found the Grapeseed oil leaves a bit too much of an oily residue to put makeup over. More on the oil can be found here.
Give it a try and let us know what you think!
