We all know how good going to sleep early is but sometimes it seem like it’s impossible to fall asleep because as soon as our heads hit the pillows our minds start racing about everything we have to do the following day, or everything you’ve done in the past day. Well we’ve found a technique to get you to fall asleep within a few minutes of getting into bed. No more tossing and turning!
1. First, do a muscle check. Start at the top of your head and scan down your body noticing any tense muscles and relaxing them. Pay special attention to your jaw and shoulders as we tend to store stress in those areas.
2. Next, become aware of your breath and try to clear your mind of everything but your breath. Breath normally a couple of times.Notice how the air fills your lungs as you inhale and your chest drops as you exhale. Notice where the air is collecting, is it your cheast? your stomach? your throat?
3. Finally, deepen and slow your breath. Counting 4 slow counts while you inhale and 4 slow counts as your exhale. Count silently in your head and before you know it you’ll wake up the next morning well rested!
Try it tonight and see what you think!
