Recently I had my second child and I couldn’t be happier. While the addition of my handsome little boy has been absolutely blissful, I really struggled with feeling like a stranger in my own body. It has been about two weeks now and while I may not feel like myself entirely, I have put together a list of few pick-me-ups to help. And even if you don’t have a new baby at home, these tips are can help for anyone’s who’s feeling a little blah.
Rise & Shine: I find that mornings where I wake up early, I am more energized throughout the day. I love sleep just as much as the next person, but too much sleep can actually make you more lethargic throughout the day.
Go Green: Kick-start your breakfast with a green smoothie, chances are if you start your morning on a healthy note, you’ll end on one! Plus green juice gives you tons of energy, cleanses your body, and just tastes so dang good!
Shower in the Morning: sounds simple enough but I can understand how this sounds unappealing when you aren’t feeling your best. I promise you, taking a shower will make you feel refreshed and ready to tackle on the day.
Put Your Face on: makeup is magical (especially concealer!), you can put as little or as much as you’d like, but putting makeup on instantly makes you feel more put together (I recommend our 5-minutes makeup routine).
Do Your Hair: don’t just leave it – brush it, quickly straighten it or throw in a few curls. My go-to lately has been sea salt spray because it is quick and easy.
Make a List: I am a list maker. I love the idea of crossing things off my list and feeling accomplished. During this time I have been off work, I still continue to make lists of things I would like to accomplish throughout the day.
