While I absolutely love getting lost in Sephora’s fabulous array of beauty products just as much as the next woman, one of my favorite beauty buys can be found in a grocery or health food store! Jason’s Vitamin E Oil is a total game changer and has been a long time staple in my beauty cabinet. Not only am I a huge fan of using natural beauty products, I am also obsessed with products that have multiple functions and this oil certainly does both! Plus, you really can’t beat the price tag and a bottle lasts forever!
Why Vitamin E? It is an antioxidant than can help protect and repair skin as well as help with premature signs of aging (!!!). How so, you ask? Well Vitamin E is a bit more complex than you think as it is composed of two main components: tocopherols and tocotrienols. Each of these branches contains four different kinds of molecules (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta), making a grand total of 8 distinct forms of vitamin E. Without getting too scientific, each of these components play their role in penetrating and locking moisture into the skin to prevent dehydration aka early signs of aging.
I love adding Vitamin E Oil to my nighttime routine in the three ways listed below:
Lip moisturizer – regular chapstick hasn’t been cutting it lately. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I used some (I swear it makes my lips more chapped!). Each night I swipe a tiny bit of Vitamin E on my lips and when I wake up they are so incredibly soft and moist!
Eye cream – eye cream is my thing. I have been using it religiously since I was about 14 and I am not kidding. Every once in a while, I switch it up from the traditional store bought eye cream and just apply the oil to the skin under my eyes. In the mornings my skin is noticeably bright, moist, and the perfect foundation for my skincare routine.
Face moisturizer – similar to eye creams, I am an avid user of moisturizer – sometimes I can’t even go to sleep unless I have that feeling of a freshly washed and moisturized face. When my skin is feeling extra dry, I massage vitamin E oil onto my freshly washed face, wait a couple minutes for it to absorb, and then apply moisturizer. This combination really helps when my skin needs a little extra TLC.
Keep in mind Vitamin E is a bit of a heavier oil and I only apply it at night so it has ample time to penetrate the skin. If you don’t believe me, try it!
