It is no mystery that I absolutely love trying out new products and seeing how I can improve my skincare routines. The other day I was at Whole Foods browsing the beauty area and stumbled upon this MyChelle Dermaceuticals: Perfect C Serum. I had always heard that Vitamin C was good for your skin and had thought about adding a serum to my morning regime but hadn’t yet. After asking an employee her thoughts, she let me know that this serum is a natural product cult favorite. This peaked my interested even more and I asked how this one differentiated itself from others. She said this particular one gives the skin a 17% dose of Vitamin C – which apparently is higher than many of the other serums on the market.
Despite my urge to just purchase this “magic serum” (as she called it) right then and there, I went back and did some research. After reading rave reviews about how it smooths and brightens skin, reduces fine lines, strengthens collagen for a more youthful glow, I decided to splurge and make the purchase ($44 for a 0.5 oz bottle!!).
When I first tried it out I was a little surprised by the smell but got used to it pretty quickly. I also learned the hard way that for best results, let the serum absorb into the skin (for a couple of minutes) and then layer moisturizer (wait a minute or two) and always follow up with sunscreen. When I put everything on right after another without any down time, my makeup looked really off. After a few emails with the MyChelle support team (which are fantastic by the way!) to confirm the smell and best way to use the serum, I can honestly say that I am really happy with it. The only con that I have noticed is that my skin feels a little tight mid-day but I add a little lotion to my cheeks and it feels fine. I am assuming this serum is the cause since I haven’t switched up anything else but that doesn’t stop me from using it!
Overall, I really love the results I have seen thus far! Have you ever tried a Vitamin C Serum? Would love to know your favorites and thoughts!
