Mothers Day was this past Sunday and it was perfect. It started off with the most adorable little girl excitedly waking me up with a, “Happy Mother’s Day, mommy!” followed quickly by my little guy crawling all over me. It was perfect. After we all got settled, my sweet husband asked my daughter to hand me my Mothers Day gift. When I opened the two Nordstrom boxes, I was so excited by what I found inside! He got me a gorgeous sun dress, glasses, and a hat – all to wear when we go wine tasting (date TBD)!
Sure this is a fabulous gift but what really made me feel special is the backstory. A few weeks ago when we were at Nordstrom, I walked past this gorgeous dress but they didn’t have my size and I was pretty bummed. I kept thinking about it and would make little comments here and there but eventually moved on. Then we walked down stairs and I tried on these fun green-mirrored Ray Ban glasses and loved but didn’t purchase them because I had just purchased sunglasses a month before. The sun hat he added just because its adorable and I cannot wait to wear it this summer! So really its the combination of it all that made it so special!

Floppy Hat (I couldn’t find the exact one he got me online so this is one that is similar!)
Aside from the gifts we made a delicious waffle brunch and relaxed for the rest of the day. Seriously a perfect day.
And please know that I know Mother’s Day is not about gifts! I would have been perfectly happy with the adorable hand written cards that my little ones made me, but I really was surprised and touched that my husband remembered the dress that I loved so much. It really was the thought that counted most!
How did you spend Mothers Day? Hope it was great!
